Charo's husband of more than 40 years has died by suicide, RadarOnline.com can confirm.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner told RadarOnline.com that Kjell Rasten was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Monday, February 18 at 1:03 pm. He was 78 years old.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

According to reports, Rasten shot himself inside the couple's Beverly Hills home.

The Spanish singer, 68, was reportedly home at the time, and called 911.

As fans know, Rasten was a successful film producer in the '70s and '80s when he met the gorgeous flamenco guitarist.

They married in 1978, and welcomed son Shel in 1981.

Apart from being her life partner, Rasten was also Charo's longtime manager.
