New Hookup! Ariana Grande & ‘Thank U, Next’ Ex Ricky Are ‘Friends With Benefits’

Ariana Grande and her “Thank U, Next” ex Ricky Alvarez have been spending an awful lot of time together lately!

And although the 25-year-old singer said that her New Year’s Resolution is to remain single, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that has not stopped her and Alvarez, 26, from having fun behind closed doors!

“Ariana and Ricky are so close already and have been hot and cold romantically since they split in the summer of 2016,” a source close to Grande told RadarOnline.com. “She is comfortable around him and she trusts him. More importantly, her family trusts Ricky.”

And, as fans know, Grande’s close-knit family — who did not approve of ex Pete Davidson — have a lot of say in her love life!

“They didn’t like Pete and her brother made this known," the insider said. "He did not try to sugarcoat it and neither did other members of her family."

But Ricky is "different."

"He and Ariana have worked together for years and he is beyond loyal to her," the source said. "The two of them have open communication and their chemistry is just undeniable.”

But does that mean that Grande is ready to rekindle the relationship? Not quite yet!

“Ariana is not looking for anything serious right now and neither is he," the source said. "They spent New Year’s Eve together and have hooked up recently, but it is nothing more than friends with benefits at this point. She will continue working with him, just as she has been for years. If something happens, something happens.”
