Ariana Grande first met Pete Davidson as a guest on Saturday Night Live. The SNL regular was dating Cazzie David at the time while Grande had a very publicized romance with rapper and musician Mac Miller.
May 10th 2018: Ariana Is Single
Seemingly out of the blue, Grande wrote an emotional message to fans that she and her boyfriend of two years had broken up.
On Instagram, she posted, “Hi! This is one of my best friends in the world and favourite people on the planet Malcolm McCormick Mac Miller. I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!”
After that message, the couple unfollowed one another on Instagram. Maybe, it had something to do with Grande and Davidson spotted together at a Saturday Night Live after-party?
May 16th 2018: Pete Is Single
Following in Grande’s footsteps Davidson shared an emotional message announcing his split from Cazzie David. He dropped sweet one-liners such as she’s a “very talented girl.”
May 20th 2018: Getting Close
It didn’t take long before Grande and Davidson were spotted acting lovey dovey backstage at the Billboard Music Awards. Grande was performing that evening and a source told People that Grande “seemed quite smitten.”
May 21st 2018: Casually Dating
News broke that the two were officially an item and were casually dating.
May 23rd: Things Are Heating Up
Within the space of three days, the duo went from casually dating to having matching tattoos of a tiny cloud on their fingers.
A disgruntled fan crossed the line with Grande. She wrote that Grande should have stayed with Mac Miller. Grande replied with a classy and lengthy clap back stating that she should not have to stay in a “toxic relationship” for any man while “he get’s his shi@ together.”
May 25th 2018: Defending Against Internet Trolls
Davidson also clapped back at fans who ranted that he wasn’t good enough for Grande because he was diagnosed with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder).
May 30th 2018: Instagram Official
Who knew that the two stars liked Harry Potter? Grande and Davidson rocked cloaks from Slytherin and Gryffindor respectively and Davidson posted the photo to his Instagram. Fans also noticed that he wore a hat that said: “I love you.”
June 2nd 2018: More Tattoos
Apparently, Davidson is so excited about his new woman that he chose to get a tattoo of her initials and the title of her hit album. "AG" was tattooed onto his thumb while “Dangerous Woman” along with bunny ears was inked right behind his left ear.
June 12th 2018: Engagement Rumors
People reported the engagement with a source saying, “It’s a recent engagement. They’re just two people who found love quickly and make each other happy all the time.”
Grande wasn’t shy about showing off the mega-watt diamond on her finger during a performance at the iHeartRadio and 102.7 KIISFM’s Wango Tango concert in Los Angeles. The problem was that the concert was on June 2nd. But, since stars are known for their love of bling and her relationship was new, fans didn’t pick up on the engagement ring until more than a week later when Grande began liking Tweets about her engagement.

Grande announces to fans the name of her new album Sweetner. She also added a bonus track titled “Pete.”
