Amber Portwood quit Teen Mom OG after she accused the series of destroying her reputation because of bad editing. Now, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal Portwood is in a better place as filming for the upcoming season is in the works.
“She went through a lot last year,” a source close to Portwood told RadarOnline.com. “Amber wasn’t in the best frame of mind.”
As readers know, Portwood, 28, struggled with postpartum depression after the birth of her son, James, with boyfriend Andrew Glennon. She told her cousin that she considered committing suicide, admitting it “doesn’t feel good to be alive right now.”
She was also the victim of online bullying, as followers accused her of being a bad mom to daughter, Leah, 9, with ex Gary Shirley because of her past prison and rehab stints. She then quit the series because she claimed it ruined her reputation.
“She did her best to show up to work and do her job,” the source said. “She didn’t want to disappoint the fans and the crew so she did her best. She gets along well with the crew and has worked with some of them for 10 years, they are like family.”
Reports also claimed crew considered firing Portwood because she became difficult to work with.
“She’s definitely not a diva,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “She thinks of the crew like her family, they see her on the best and worst days.”
Filming is currently "in the works" for Portwood.
“She’s excited for the new season,” the insider said. “She’s doing really well and feeling better. She cares so much about everyone.”
RadarOnline.com broke that Portwood is returning to TMOG after quitting the series.
“She had second thoughts about leaving. She now wants to stay with the MTV family and share her story,” an insider previously told RadarOnline.com. “Because of the fans, and her 10 year history on the show, she doesn’t want to leave abruptly.”
