Inside De Niro’s Marriage From Hell: ‘She Busted His Balls!’

Robert De Niro’s friends are breathing a sigh of relief on his behalf following the end of his stormy marriage to Grace Hightower – saying she made his life miserable for years, RadarOnline.com exclusively learned.
“She busted his balls and controlled his finances and film production company, and had all kinds of rules he couldn’t live by,” an insider snitched to RadarOnline.com about the 72-year-old Oscar winner’s soon-to-be ex wife.
“Grace micromanaged him to death and he deserves a medal for sticking it out so long.”
Before the couple decided it call it quits she ruled their more than 20-year relationship with an iron fist.
“With both their names on so many charitable projects, she wanted him to look respectable in the public eye, and that meant shaving regularly and getting a proper haircut he loves to go native and not hanging out with pals like Marty Scorsese, Leo DiCaprio, Harvey Keitel, and Keith Richards,” the insider revealed.
But he had no freedom. “He had to call from the set twice a day like he was reporting to duty.”
De Niro’s marriage ending was a relief for the couple, the snitch told RadarOnline.com.
“To her credit she took on a lot of the responsibilities, but a huge festering problem was that he wasn’t able to be himself. Now she’s moving on and it’s eased up a lot of the stress and tension between them.”
