Michelle Williams Quits Broadway Play Amid Depression: 'She's Not In A Good Place'

Michelle Williams has quit her broadway play on "doctor's orders," and RadarOnline.com can reveal exclusively she's "not in a good place."
"Effective immediately, Michelle T. Williams has been advised by her medical doctors to take a leave of absence from performing.," a show rep said in a statement. "As a result, the singer/actress will not continue in the Tony Award winning Broadway production of Once On This Island."
Sources tell RadarOnline.com Williams, who joined the cast on November 30 in the role of the goddess Erzulie, is "struggling mentally and people close to her are very worried."
The news comes just days after Williams revealed she and Pastor Chad Johnson had called off their engagement.
As fans know, the couple has a show chronicling their engagement and upcoming wedding, but they broke up with episodes of their show still left in the lineup.
Now, the insider tells RadarOnline.com exclusively she didn’t show up to film for her show and the pressure from the network is coming down on her to get the last episode out with changes before next week. "She’s not cooperating. She is shut down."
“She was told she had to reshoot the last episode of her reality show with Chad to include that they were calling off their wedding," the informant dished. "That’s very emotional for her, she doesn’t want to relive that."
The former Destiny’s Child singer reportedly checked into a mental health center to deal with depression in July 2018.
In a personal posting on Instagram at the time, Williams, 37 discussed her pain and problems.
“For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that care about your wellbeing,” she wrote.
“I recently listened to the same advice I gave to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals,” she continued. “Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need.
“If you change your mind, you can change your life.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Williams has battled depression before, and shocked fans when she admitted to contemplating suicide during the height of her fame with the girl group, which included Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland.
“I’m in one of the top-selling female groups of all time, suffering with depression,” Williams, admitted while guest co-hosting The Talk in 2017.
