On Nov. 15, a Missouri jury ruled Godejohn guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Dee Dee's death. Godejohn was accused of stabbing the mother to death while Gypsy listened in another room.
Gypsy's story garnered attention from all over the country, as her mother's murder revealed that the troubled daughter was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
Dee Dee allegedly duped family members, neighbors and even doctors into believing that Gypsy suffered from muscular dystrophy and leukemia. She kept Gypsy confined to a wheelchair, isolated and out of school.
Since Dee Dee's death, Gypsy has reconnected with her father and her step-mom, Kristy Blanchard. The prisoner's father revealed to RadarOnline.com that he believes she's remained "brave" while behind bars.
Gypsy reportedly will be eligible for parole before her 10-year sentence is up.
