Selena Gomez Checks Into Mental Health Hospital After Medical Crisis
Selena Gomez has checked into a mental health facility after suffering an emotional breakdown, RadarOnline.com can confirm.
The singer, 26, "voluntarily" entered treatment after her mother and other family members "urged" her to get help, a source told RadarOnline.com.
According to reports, Gomez’ mental health crisis hit while she was hospitalized for low white blood cell count one year after undergoing a kidney transplant.
Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend was reportedly released from a local Los Angeles hospital, but was readmitted days later because her blood cell count remained low, sending her into an emotional crisis.
Gomez allegedly tried to leave against doctor’s orders, and even attempted to rip the IV out of her arm.
The troubled singer reportedly checked into a facility on the east coast where she is undergoing dialectical behavior therapy, which treats mental health disorders.
RadarOnline.com previously reported that Gomez was traumatized by her friend Demi Lovato’s overdose.
“Selena is freaking out about this,” a source close to the “Slow Down” singer told RadarOnline.com over the summer. “She feels like it could have been her.”
She also visited Lovato in the hospital before her own downward spiral began again.
In addition to still being worried about her best friend, the source told RadarOnline.com tonight, she is still reeling over ex-boyfriend Bieber's quickie engagement and marriage to Hailey Baldwin just months after their split.
