Hell's Kitchen contestant Jessica Vogel suddenly passed away at age 34 on Monday.
Michael Keyser said his fiancée had checked in to a southern New Jersey hospital to treat issues related to colitis and "her heart gave out," reported NJ.com .
Vogel appeared on Hell's Kitchen in 2014 and was most lauded for her venison loin.
"Venison is one of the most difficult proteins to cook and you absolutely nailed it," said Gordon Ramsay after she prepared a rosemary-crusted version of the meat and served it with Brussels sprouts and potatoes.
Vogel went on to work at a several Jersey eateries, and she made a brief appearance on Food Network's popular Cutthroat Kitchen in 2016.
Last year, Vogel penned a tongue-in-cheek post about finding out she needed to drink less.
"I'm weeks away from 34 years old and got told I drink too much and have cirrhosis," Vogel wrote. "Did it stop me from pouring shots of alcohol? Nope. Did my lifestyle of sex, drugs and foie gras come to a born again Christian revelation? F*** that noise. Life is a blaze of glory. I don't know if you want an adventure tale, but I'm here and ready to tell. My name is Jess and I've lived to tell about it. To be continued..."
Another former Hell's Kitchen contestant, Paul Giganti, was found dead in Philadelphia in April 2017.
