Rapper Tekashi69 was assaulted and kidnapped in Brooklyn this weekend.

The troubled performer told cops that he was a passenger in a Chevy Tahoe at a Brooklyn intersection, sitting at a red light, when a car bumped them from behind.

Two men with guns jumped out, stole the driver's iPhone and then grabbed him and dragged him into their car and drove off.

The 22-year-old rapper – whose real name is Daniel Hernandez – is a Brooklyn native.

He was reportedly then driven to his home where his kidnappers demanded jewelry, however, he managed to escape and checked himself into a hospital.

The rapper had been working on a music video before the attack and was reportedly treated for pistol whip injuries sustained during the incident.

The police are still investigating the incident.
