On March 5, an erratic New York woman, Dorothy Bruns, ran past a red light in Park Slope, Brooklyn, fatally crushing two toddlers and severely injuring their heartbroken mothers.
Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles — who was seven months pregnant at the time — was one of the two women injured. Her 4-year-old daughter, Abigail Blumenstein, died at the scene after being hit by the vehicle.
While Miles, 35, and her husband, Jonathan Blumenstein, previously claimed the actress’ unborn baby remained unharmed following the tragedy, its seems fate had a different plan for the devastated parents.
“At the time of the crash Ruthie was pregnant and was severely injured,” the family’s lawyer, Ben Rubinowitz, told the NY Daily News this Wednesday.
“This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein,” continued the attorney in his statement. “The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is nearly impossible to fathom.”
