Demi Lovato's Mom Says Singer 'Still Loves' Ex Wilmer Valderrama!
Demi Lovato's mother, Dianna De La Garza, just opened up about her daughter's relationship with Selena Gomez after her kidney transplant, as well as the family's thoughts on Lovato's ex, Wilmer Valderrama!
During an appearance on Millennial Hollywood with Dakota T. Jones, De La Garza said she feels badly about how the media has portrayed Lovato's relationship with Gomez, 25.
"I think, you know, these kids, they, they go through their struggles and yes, like you said, sometimes people try to pit people against each other which, you know, I wish they wouldn't do," said De La Garza, 55. "At the end of the day when you have a true friendship like that, I think it is always gonna be that way… When you are truly friends, you can even get mad at each other, you can have your differences and disagreements, but at the end of the day, you're always gonna be friends when it's true friendship."
The "Sorry Not Sorrry" singer's mom also spoke of Gomez's lupus crisis, saying that Lovato, 25, helped her recover.
"I'm just so thankful that, you know, Selena's best friend was able to help her out and now she's, you know, in a much better; she's much healthier," she said, referring to daughter Demi Lovato. "I don't know what our lives would be like if anything had happened to her. And I don't want to ever find that out. So, I'm just really grateful and I'm thankful that, you know, she's doing so much better."

In her tell-all interview De La Garza also came clean about her daughter's relationship with actor Wilmer Valderrama, 38, even saying that she was sure they would end up getting married!
While Lovato's mother admitted that she was once jealous of the Hollywood hunk because he got to spend more time with the singer than she did, she eventually grew to like him and appreciate his kindness.
"He's so likable and just a lovely human being," she admitted. "But, you know, it's funny that after everything was said and done and he had been with her for so long, and I just had a realization one day that I wanted to go and get to know him better because… I thought they were gonna get married."
"We had all hung out, but I hadn't really made that effort," she added. "And once I made that effort, I really came to really truly love him as a person, and as a person that I really wanted to be in our family."
De La Garza even said that till this day, she believes Valderrama "still loves" Lovato, "and she loves him."
"I think Demi came to a point where she wanted to make some decisions in her life, and when that happened, it just really broke us all," she continued, referring to Lovato's decision to break things off with Valderrama. "I mean, we, we were just so upset. But also, I had to respect Demi's choice as a mother. You know, it was her life and I had to let her decide things for herself...We really were hurt at the time. We were hurting, I mean, um, because we missed him."
De La Garza added, however, that while the family doesn't see the '70s Show star often, they still spend time with him "occasionally" — and when they do, "it's just like nothing ever changed. You know, he's just that kind of person."
