Big Ang’s Sister Janine Breaks Down Over Her Death Two Years Later: ‘It’s Hard’

It’s been over two years since Angela “Big Ang” Raiola passed away from brain and lung cancer at the age of 55, but for her family the wounds are still fresh. The late Mob Wives star’s sister Janine and niece Jeannie Detore opened up about the tragedy exclusively to RadarOnline.com.

“There are days I feel like I can’t go on,” Janine told Radar. “To lose someone like my sister was really hard. Unfortunately, I just can’t get over it. We were friends. It’s hard.”

Janine’s daughter Jeannie added of her late aunt, “It’s been a void that no one else can fill. She was with us everyday. It hasn’t been the same since she’s been gone.”

Janine keeps her sister’s memory alive by sharing throwback photos with fans on her Instagram and with a mural of her sister painted on the side of her Staten Island, New York children’s boutique County Mouse.

Jeannie explained that while the family still keeps in touch with Raiola’s children Raquel and Anthony, and her Mob Wives co-star Drita D’Avanzo, they do not speak with Raiola’s husband Neil Murphy, who she was estranged from at the time of her February 18, 2016 death.

The Detore family will be returning to reality TV with a new show called Staten Island Hustle.

The CNBC show follows Janine’s husband Dom and his four friends from Staten Island who come up with ideas and products to invest in.

“We keep the guys in check, but we love them,” Janine explained of their role in the show. “We tell them if it’s a good or a bad idea. They like our feedback because we’re very honest. I’m not going to tell my husband I love this if I think it is garbage. It’s really going to be a great, fun show.”

Janine and Jeannie are hustlers themselves, as the show also features their businesses.

“I own a children’s clothing store that’s been around for 45 years,” Janine explained of Country Mouse. “We’re an upscale children’s boutique. We are known in a lot of places.”

Jeannie, who is working towards attending medical school to become a surgeon, is owner of the online boutique The Daily Slay.

“I was on spring break last March and I was bored I started an online store,” Jeannie explained. “People can come to me if they want something in particular. I can find anything, like a stylist.”

Staten Island Hustle premieres on Wednesday, April 11 at 10pm.
