Kathie Lee Gifford is icing out Megyn Kelly after she learned she would need to be moved to her studio during the upcoming Winter Olympics so NBC can save money, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

"They will only need to pay for one crew, if they share a studio during the Olympics," revealed a Today insider, "but why does Kathie Lee have to move across the street to Megyn instead of the other way around?"

Kelly's show has been plagued with problems, from low-ratings to bad publicity.

And, as RadarOnline.com reported, Gifford, 64, was already cooling on 47-year-old Kelly after she recently attacked actress Jane Fonda on the air after flubbing an interview with the Hollywood legend.

"Everyone is sick of bending over backwards for Megyn," said the insider. "Kathie Lee has been with the show longer and yet Kelly is treated as the star. God forbid Megyn should pack up her dressing room and move."

In fact, Gifford is so tired of dealing with Kelly that she flat-out refused to co-host with her while Gifford's usual sidekick, Hoda Kotb, is at the Olympics in South Korea with Savannah Guthrie doing the first two hours of Today.

"It was suggested that Megyn host her regular 9 a.m. hour and then fill in for Hoda opposite Kathie Lee," noted the insider. "Kathie Lee made it clear that this wasn't a good idea. It has now been decided that Jenna Bush with fill in for Hoda."

There is one silver lining to Gifford's temporarily moving in on Kelly's territory at NBC.

"Kathie Lee isn't expecting a warm welcome but she is looking forward to having a studio audience again," said the insider. "It will be like the old days when she was with Regis Philbin!"
