Dueling Divas! NBC ‘Freaking Out’ After Megyn Kelly’s Latest Attack On Jane Fonda

Megyn Kelly has declared war on Jane Fonda, but she’s losing the fight and is quickly falling further out of favor with NBC brass and her Today colleagues as a result, RadarOnline.com has learned.
“NBC is freaking out over Megyn’s attack on Jane Fonda — Jane is Hollywood royalty and celebs will stand with her not Kelly,” a source said.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Kelly, 47, first kicked off her public feud with Fonda when she recently asked the Grace & Frankie actress on Megyn Kelly Today how many facelifts she has undergone.
Then, on Jan. 22, Kelly upped the tension when she slammed Fonda during her show for lecturing on what qualifies as offensive.
“She posed on an anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down our pilots,” Kelly blasted of 80-year-old “Hanoi Jane” Fonda’s political views during the Vietnam War. “Even she had to apologize years later for that gun picture — but not for the rest of it.”
Now NBC honchos are the ones doing the apologizing on Kelly’s behalf.
“The fear is that A-list guests will not only pull out of Megyn’s show, but they’ll also boycott the entire Today show,” warned the insider. “Megyn is part of the Today family and when she attacks a stars the whole Today show suffers.”
And the competition wins.
“The Good Morning America team is loving this and have already made it clear to publicists, managers and stars that they are welcome on ABC, where they will not be asked about plastic surgery or attacked after they leave the studio,” revealed the insider.
Kelly’s Today ratings have been suffering, and the ratcheting up of her fight with a beloved star isn’t likely to help matters.
“What Megyn is doing is suicide,” said the insider, who warns that the journalist “is welcome to kill her show but she will not be allowed to take down the Today show with her.”
“What happened today will never happen again,” added the source, noting that “this might be the last straw for Megyn.”
“Her show was in trouble before today — now NBC is trying to find a way to dump her and save themselves.”
