Hoda Kotb is finally opening up about that massive wage gap between her and Matt Lauer! The new NBC co-anchor claimed she is not making anywhere near what Lauer, 60, made in his heyday, and she thinks it's "hysterical!"
In a tell-all interview with PEOPLE, the news anchor was asked if she was getting paid $25 million like Lauer when he was in her position.
"No, no. I'm not making Matt Lauer money. Not even close. That's not happening," Kotb, 53, nervously answered.
"For either of us," added co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kotb is making $7 million as the network's newest co-anchor, which means she is getting paid $18 million less than Lauer, who had the same role!
"But I think the whole money thing for me – I know it sounds ridiculous, but I really have done jobs I liked for the job," Kotb told PEOPLE. "I never wanted to be happy only every other Friday on payday."
The happy new mom went on to say that transitioning into Lauer's job after his sexual misconduct scandal "felt totally natural," and she still can't believe it's happening to her.
Once the excitement wears off, do you think Hoda Kotb will demand the massive raise she deserves? Sound off in the comments below.
