'Long Island Medium' Star Theresa Caputo Splits From Husband
Long Island Medium star Theresa Caputo has split from her husband of 28 years, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Theresa and Larry Caputo told RadarOnline.com in a statement, "After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate. We will always love each other and our two wonderful children.
"We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time."
Theresa, 51, who claims she can communicate with the dead on her TLC reality show, has explored her marital problems with Larry on the eighth season, which is currently airing.
During the November 27 episode, the medium cried while doing a reading as she became overwhelmed with her relationship struggles.
Theresa told the cameras, "I'm gonna say something, and I'm gonna regret it. Things happen."
She broke into tears and walked off camera, saying, "I can't, I can't do this."
Theresa later said on the show, "I'm in the middle of a reading with Erin and my own emotions about my relationship with Larry got the best of me. This is a really hard time right now with Larry and I, and I don't know what's going to happen. It's just, it's wearing on me."
The marriage troubles were obvious to fans as Caputo also confided in friends during an episode that aired on November 13, "Since the last season of Long Island Medium, Larry and I's relationship has changed. We've been there for each other, you know, through thick and thin, you know, good times, and right now are not such great times. I don't understand it. I lay in bed, and I say to myself, 'How did this happen? How did I get here?' "
During a confessional in the same episode, the crying reality star elaborated, "I sometimes interpret it as growing apart. I've changed and he has changed. We're both not happy and, you know, it's hard to try to work through that."
Theresa and Larry have a son, Larry Jr., 24, and a daughter Victoria, 23.
The medium recently revealed in her book Good Grief: Heal Your Soul, Honor Your Loved Ones, and Learn To Live Again, that she once lived with such "crippling" fear and anxiety, she couldn't leave her own home.
Theresa conquered her panic, but now, sadly, she and her longtime husband are divorcing.
