Artie Lange Back In The Hospital Following Rehab Visit & Drug-Related Arrest

Artie Lange has landed back in the hospital after he was sent to rehab for an addiction to drugs, RadarOnline.com has learned.

"He's in the hospital," Lange's podcast partner and friend, Anthony Cumia revealed on his show Tuesday. "He's getting medical attention."

Lange called into The Artie and Anthony podcast from the hospital to give the latest update on his precarious health situation.

"This person just gave me my medication so I could talk," Lange revealed on the phone. "My mother is in the room and she has good macaroni."

Cumia asked the 50-year-old comedian to explain what's happened in the days since that infamous photo of Lange with a swollen nose was tweeted out.

"It's all relevant," Lange said. "I annoyed somebody, so I got punched in the face."

"We did notice your nose was looking bigger," Cumia, 56, teased.

"Put it this way, If you punched Artie Lange over a debt you cannot go to Joel Osteen," Lange responded.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, sources close to the comedian revealed he was beaten up by bookies.

"It kind of blew up on me; and Twitter can be a little outreaching," Lange noted of his trouble. "Whether you tweet or not."

Lange admitted to making "a lot of buddies" at the Essex County Jail, where he spent three days confined to a cell, isolated and under supervision.

"I was in jail for a while and they treated me great," Lange said of jail officials.

"I had a bench warrant — which is not good," Lange continued. "You don't want to have a bench warrant that was existing. They were very cool."

Lange also copped to not knowing he had a warrant and that he was unaware he was supposed to attend court hearings.

"The judge was very fair. Listen, I had to show up. You have to show up to these things," he said. "I was not aware that I had to. But that's not an excuse. They are doing what they have to do."

"I did nothing," Lange added to Cumia of his arrest ordeal. "They came in and I gave them macaroni. They put handcuffs on me and took all my garlic knots."

Cumia ended the segment by telling his dear friend everyone was hoping he would make a full recovery: "People really come to the table when somebody they really care about is laid up," he said. "So people are really rooting for ya, you son of a b***h."

"Artie be well, keep in touch, and will talk to you soon," Cumia added. "Take it easy Artie."
