The honeymoon stage seems to be over for Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer. The Teen Mom OG star’s wife revealed their marital issues over social media days after he was caught on camera falling asleep at the wheel while high on drugs.
“God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons that we could learn in no other way,” the cryptic message on Standifer’s Instagram account read.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Edwards was high on his wedding day.
“Why are you swerving,” Standifer asked as he drove them to their ceremony.
He responded, “My eyes baby, in the sunlight I can’t keep them open.”
She punched his shoulder throughout the scene as he continued to nod off.
“Hey you know what would be the coolest?” he asked. “Bachelor and bachelorette parties. I just thought about it, but I can’t rethink about it. We’re going to be married, we’re going to be married.”
Standifer then turned the cameras off, but left their microphones on as she asked if he took Xanax again.
After the scene was filmed, Edwards entered rehab for his addiction issues.
“A little over 30 days ago, I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility,” he told MTV. “I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better. Without the support of my wife and parents I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes.”
Despite the cryptic quote, Standifer proved that their marriage is still going strong after she shared photos from their family vacation earlier this week.
Standifer posted a photo with him and her son Hudson from a previous marriage.
In a second photo, the newlyweds were all smiles while on the beach.
“Fave place. Fave people,” she captioned the snap.
Maci Bookout’s baby daddy looked healthy in the photos, as he appeared to have gained more weight.
