Leah Messer continues to prove she is no longer a monster mom to her three children. But is her latest attempt all an act? The Teen Mom 2 star burned her pack of cigarettes to show she has finally kicked the habit.
"So over this bad habit," Messer, 25, captioned a photo of her cigarettes burning. "It's not healthy for me or my household. What role model for my daughters would I be to keep smoking? So I'm finally saying goodbye to cigarettes!"
She added, "It's time I take that step! Cigarettes are bad for us and our families!"
The mother of twins Ali and Aleeah, 6, and Adalynn, 3, quit smoking during filming for the upcoming season of Teen Mom 2.
Messer has been trying to rid herself of her "monster mom" reputation. In August, she traveled across the county to bring her daughters to Great Wolf Lodge in California and posted photos from their trip on social media.
The two-time divorcee was criticized for her parenting skills last season. On the premiere, Ali and Aleeah cried for their mom to make them breakfast before school.
"But I want something," Aleeah screamed. "I don't trust you, take me back home. You're always worrying about everything else except for going to pick us up and giving us lunch."
Soon after the episode, Messer posted a photo of her youngest daughter eating breakfast to prove she does feed her children.
Messer temporarily lost custody of her twin daughters to ex-husband Corey Simms in October 15 for failing to drop off her daughters to school on time. She was awarded joint custody in January.
