Angela "Big Ang" Raiola lost her battle to cancer early this morning at the age of 55, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The Mob Wives star passed away surrounded by "nothing but love from her immediate family, and closest friends," the star's family posted in a statement on Twitter.
Raiola was recently diagnosed with stage 4 throat and brain cancer—and had been in and out of the hospital for weeks after her body stopped responding to chemotherapy.
Near the end, Raiola's fight grew so intense that her sister Janine Detore founded a GoFundMe page to help raise money for her ailing sister.
According to Detore at the time, the reality star's breathing was "labored" and the amount of pain she was experiencing was "by far more than she could handle."
As RadarOnline.com first reported, Raiola was hospitalized last April for a giant tumor.
She leaves behind husband Neil Murphy, 43, and a son, Anthony Donfrio.
In one of her last tweets, Raiola thanked fans for the unwavering support.
"I know I've said it before, but I just want to make sure it's always known..." she wrote. "Thank you ALL for the concern, support, love, & well wishes."
As RadarOnline.com reported, she recently announced that she and her husband of six years, Neil Murphy, split as her health worsened.
Story developing.
