Yolanda Foster could be losing her biggest supporter just when she needs him most! RadarOnline.com has learned that the troubled Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is worried that her ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, could be headed to jail, after the real estate developer was charged with three misdemeanor counts related to the development of a Bel Air mansion
Hadid, 67, is facing more than a year behind bars if convicted.
According to insiders, Foster was "absolutely stunned that Mohamed had been charged."
"Yolanda reached out to Mohamed after the news broke, and he assured her that everything would be okay," the source said. "Mohamed's attorney is confident the matter will be resolved without any jail time included in a potential plea deal."
"Mohamed employs many people and Yolanda thinks he is being targeted because of their celebrity status," the source continued. "He has never violated any laws and just wants this resolved."
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the Los Angeles City Attorney's office formally charged Gigi Hadid's dad with illegal use of land, building without a permit and failure to obey orders from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
The development of the Bel Air mansion, dubbed the Starship Enterprise by neighbors, has outraged locals because of the 30,000 square feet size.
In September 2015, construction on the project was ordered halted after Joseph Horacek, who lives below the mansion, said it had destabilized the hillside.
Hadid was told to remove a non-approved theater and guest rooms below the swimming pool. He appealed the decision and was denied.
In recent months, Hadid has been a rock for his ex-wife Foster, 51, as she continues to struggle with Lyme disease, and her split from husband, David Foster, 65.
The source added, "Yolanda will support Mohamed and truly wants to help him any was possible. He has been so great to her over the years."
