Amber Portwood is all about spreading the love — but knows when it's time to speak her mind.
After her Teen Mom OG costar Farrah Abraham trashed the MTV reality show's producers and claimed to carry the series with her own fame, the recovering addict, 24, took to Twitter to put the sex tape star in her place.
“You don't make the show and there wasn't one for years wink wink so get over yourself sweetheart,” Portwood posted on April 22, before deleting the Tweet.
She then tried to get across to Abraham, 23, without letting her million followers in on a secret.
“I wish I could say everything right now,” she mysteriously wrote. “We both know what the truth is especially with me.”
So what's the “truth?”
A source close to Portwood says that only the cast knows that MTV initially canceled the show because the troubled mom of Leah, 6, headed to prison on drug-related charges in 2012. (The show was eventually revived earlier this year, and MTV never confirmed cancellation rumors.)
“There was no show when Amber went to prison, so obviously Farrah could not carry the show on her own,” the insider explains. “Amber doesn't want to start drama, but Farrah needs to realize that all four of the girls make the show work. It's not all about her.”
While the two reality stars are not close friends in their personal lives, the source insists that Portwood “has a lot of love” for Abraham.
“They both have been through so much over the years, and understand how hard it is to be a reality celebrity,” the source says. “Amber has a lot of love for Farrah and always will, no matter what she says or does.”
