Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has cleaned up this awards season as the industry's newest golden boy. But a close friend the Theory of Everything actor told RadarOnline.com exclusively why he won’t let his newfound fame go to his head.
"Even before winning the Oscar last night, he was telling a group of us who were all hanging out at the Sunset Tower Hotel, where he loves to stay when he is in town, that he can’t believe this is his life right now," the friend said.
As RadarOnline.com reported, the 33-year-old British actor has been in "honey-moon bliss" since marrying his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, in December 2014. Bagshawe, a publicist in London, has strong roots in the UK and Redmayne will be staying there with her.
"Eddie says that he will not be going Hollywood," the source revealed. "He and Hannah are completely content with staying in England because they are both very close to their family, and her work is there."
Redmayne, who nabbed the Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor this season, flew into town this weekend from London where he has been preparing for his new role as the first transgender patient to undergo a sex change in The Danish Woman, the friend tells RadarOnline.com.
"They are such a normal couple and are two of the most down-to-earth people you will ever meet. They do not spend lavishly and although Hannah looks shy and reserved, when you are around them, it is quite the opposite," the source said. "She is very comfortable being his wife and she definitely keeps him grounded."
