Nearly one month to the day after Mel B was hospitalized in London, the former Spice Girl rushed her husband, Stephen Belafonte, to the emergency room in L.A. on Tuesday morning. Now, Belafonte is speaking out exclusively to RadarOnline.com about what exactly happened.

"I woke up and my back was hurting really badly, and Mel brought me to the hospital,” he said. "Everything is fine, and I will probably be released from here (Cedars Sinai) in the next few hours.”

"I have no idea how it happened. I might have slept wrong,” he said. "We had just recently flown back from New York City and wanted to make sure it wasn't deep vein thrombosis."

Belafonte's visit to the hospital comes only weeks after Mel B sought treatment in London following an accidental overdose.

Scary Spice mixed alcohol and pills.

The couple had temporarily separated after the incident. But today, Belafonte told Radar, "We are solid and are in a good place. Mel brought me to the hospital and has stayed by my side. I love my wife."

Story developing.
