She probably wishes she could take that comment back!

It seems that Julianne Hough outed this season’s Dancing With the Stars contestant Jonathan Bennett on Extra this week.

“He tweeted at me last year and said I had a nice butt, and I thought, ‘Oh he’s hitting on me—I should try to go on a date with him!’” the new Dancing With the Stars judge told host Mario Lopez, 40, on his celebrity news show about the Mean Girls hunk, 33.

“What happened?” Lopez asked.

He’s gay— so I was like, ‘That’s not gonna work!’” Hough, 26, laughed.

Cute story, but there’s a problem: Though Bennett was rumored to have dated Kyle XY actor Matt Dallas, 31, in 2009, he has never commented publicly on his sexuality.

He also hasn’t responded to Hough’s goof up, though he did post a cryptic tweet on September 20.

“You’ve got to keep moving towards the goal, no matter what’s in front of you,” said the actor, who famously romanced Lindsay Lohan in their 2004 classic flick.

As for her own love life, the actress split from longtime boyfriend Ryan Seacrest in early 2013, and is now dating pro hockey player Brooks Laich, 31.

Should Julianne publicly apologize for spilling the beans? Sound off in the comments and watch the video of the embarrassing incident below!
