British Ambassador Peter Westmacott Says Intelligence Are ‘Close’ To Identifying James Foley’s Killer
British Intelligence are “close” to identifying American journalist James Foley’s killer, British ambassador Peter Westmacott told CNN Sunday.
Dubbed “Jihad John,” the man who appeared on the video with Foley appeared to have a British accent, and Westmacott said, “we’re not far away” from identifying the masked man.
Westmacott admitted that investigators have been using advanced technology such as voice recognition software to figure out who the man behind the mask is. So far there are three suspects in mind, including 23-year-old former rapper Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, according to reports. The West Londoner reportedly abandoned his music career in order to join militants in Syria.

Investigators are also allegedly seeing if “Jihad John” has appeared in any other execution videos involving other Jihadi groups that have ties to ISIS, the terror organization behind Foley’s killing.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, a masked, knife-wielding man beheaded Foley, 40, after forcing the journalist to disparage the U.S. on camera.
