Revealed: Why Kanye West ‘Relented’ And Allowed Reality Cameras To Film ‘Made-For-Television’ Proposal

Kanye West's "surprise" proposal to baby mama Kim Kardashian was another made-for-television moment, RadarOnline.com has learned — ironic given he'd previously insisted that he doesn't want to appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians because it would be bad for his image.
So why the change of heart?
The Yeezus singer "relented and agreed to have his proposal filmed," according to a source, as a "trade-off because he wouldn't allow North to be filmed in the days after her birth.
"He will have the final say on the edit, as to what is shown and how it is portrayed. But make no mistake, the proposal was a made-for-television moment. It was borderline theatrical."
As leaked video of the proposal shows, when the rapper popped the question to Kim, the mother of his daughter, North, at San Francisco's AT& T Park on Monday night, there were at least two E! cameras on hand to film it.
"Kanye considers it one just a handful of cameos that he will make on the show," the family insider added.
The soon-to-be-married pair have "not discussed" if the wedding will appear on Keeping Up With The Kardashians or one of the famed family's other programs, the source added.
"But I'd imagine there might be some trepidation given her second wedding to Kris Humphries was followed by their split — and it all aired as a special on E!," the insider noted.
And if you thought Kanye's proposal was grand, the wedding -- filmed for TV or not -- will be even more spectacular!
"Kanye is urging Kim to plan her dream wedding," the source said. "It is not going to be a quiet affair. It will be lavish beyond belief. Kim will have several dresses and Kanye wants her to be wearing some of the top designers from around the world."
As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, the reality TV beauty knew Kanye would propose -- but just didn't know when.
If you believe friends and family, the reality star was completely shocked when Kanye chose to propose on her 33rd birthday.
But one of our sources said Kim had already told Kanye to get her a Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring and she also "already discussed her dream wedding dresses with a number of designers in Paris when she and Kanye went to Fashion Week in that city."
