Justin Bieber’s days as a monkey owner seem to be over!

The controversial pop star, who was gifted an exotic capuchin monkey, Mally, for his 19th birthday in March, and shortly after had the adorable primate seized by customs officials in Munich and quarantined, has decided to give his pet away instead of going to retrieve it, and RadarOnline.com has the details.

Mally, who was only nine weeks old when given to the Boyfriend singer by music producer Jamal Mally Mal Rashid, was seized by German authorities when Justin arrived in the country on his European tour, as he didn’t have the proper paperwork on the primate.

According to Germany’s Bild newspaper, Bieber’s team is “looking into the idea of placing Mally at a zoo in Germany” and is asking for recommendations.

“A baby monkey is not something suitable to be on a world tour even if he is traveling by private jet,” the head of the animal shelter where Mally is living, Karl Heinz Joachim explained. “He should be out in the wild climbing trees and learning from other monkeys if he isn't to have serious psychological problems later in life."
