Now, it’s her turn to say “I’m sorry.”
American Idol season 11 hopeful Brittany Kerr has apologized for making out with married country star Jason Aldean in a Los Angeles bar.
"The actions I portrayed recently were not a representation of my true character, but a lapse in judgment on my part," the 24-year-old cheerleader said in a statement Monday. "I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this, including my friends and family."
Photos of the two cozying up and kissing at the bar hit the web over the weekend, prompting the My Kinda Party singer, 35, to issue an apology to his fans on his Facebook page earlier Monday.
"I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites," he wrote. "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar.
"I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story," Aldean added. "I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support."
In waking of the kissing scandal, Kerr had to shut down her Twitter account after Aldean fans blasted her -- calling her everything from a "skank" to a "homewrecking whore."
If you don’t remember Kerr from the 11th season of American Idol, don’t worry – she was cut during the final round of the Hollywood auditions.
Aldean married his high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery in 2001. The couple has two young daughters. Ussery has yet to publicly comment on the photos.
