Her explicit revelations of shocking drug-use and a devil-may-care attitude catapulted Cat Marnell into notoriety earlier this month when she dished on her indulgent lifestyle packed with crazy narcotic cocktails, bulimia, abortions and doctor shopping.

The outrageous party-girl has since claimed that she is turning her life around and quitting her Amphetamine Logic column on Vice.com, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that her good intentions are simply a self-promoting fabrication.

"She’s pretending to clean up her act but it’s all a joke. Her being sober is not true," a close friend of Cat's told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

"Everything about her not smoking PCP for a month is a lie, I was out with her two weeks and I know for a fact she was on it," revealed the party pal.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the former Conde Nast and xojane.com beauty editor traded in her professional title after years of working her way to the top for the sake of a drug-fueled social scene that keeps her up all night at Manhattan hot spots.

"I couldn't spend another summer meeting deadlines behind a computer at night when I could be on the rooftop of Le Bain looking for shooting stars and smoking angel dust with my friends," she recently spilled to Page Six Magazine in a controversial interview.

After turning 30 last week, Marnell told the New York Observer that she had turned over a new leaf "working really hard at being a better person. I go to parties, but I don’t really party that much. I’m not, like, Charlie Sheening." But her friend told RadarOnline.com that she's as out of control as ever!

"Cat is the same mess and the attention just feeds her partying and ego," said the insider.

In her farewell column on Vice, Marnell wrote: "I am better and I will continue to get better, and it doesn't matter to me that you don't want to believe this, or don't understand what it means...I'm almost done with writing about drugs."

But even the dramatic goodbye was totally fake, revealed the insider.

"She is not leaving Vice, they were being manipulative and playing with the media to make people think that the relationship is over but it’s not," they said.

In fact, instead of sticking to the straight and narrow, the club-hopper is moving to Los Angeles to work on a "top secret" TV project tie-in with Vice that will see her appearing on camera for a style show.

"Her drug-taking will probably get worse when she moves to LA, it’s a party scene everywhere!" said the insider.

"She has zero work ethic, she’s using Vice to party in LA and have sex with a white rapper," they added.

The proud bulimic -- who at 98 pounds, lives on a diet of Gatorade, angel dust, Adderall, vodka, cigarettes and the occasional binge bucket of chicken wings -- has recently been hooking up with musician Riff Raff, but her friend claims, "it's a sex and drugs thing, they're not dating. They hook up when they’re in the same city.

"There’s a whole bunch of guys that she sleeps with, she’s probably just going out there to party," the friend explained.
