Jennifer Lopez confirmed on Friday that she will no longer be a judge on American Idol.
The 42-year-old told Idol colleague Ryan Seacrest that she needs to let go of the show so she can get back to the rest of her career responsibilities.
"Ryan, you know this more than anybody… I really have been torn," J.Lo told Ryan on his radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
"It gets just more complicated as the kids get a little bit bigger and it just gets … it just started feeling like it was a lot and something had to give. Something has to give. And that's where I am right now.
"I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, that I've put kind of on hold because I love Idol so much."
On Thursday, Lopez hinted to TODAY show correspondent Natalie Morales that she may be leaving Idol saying, "I am thinking that maybe it's time for me to go and do other things that I really love to do."
Just hours later, Idol judge Steven Tyler announced he would be leaving the hit Fox show after two seasons.
