Drew Brees Becomes Highest-Paid NFL Player, Signs $100 Million Deal With New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is one very happy man today. The superstar quarterback has signed a five-year deal with his New Orleans Saints for a stunning $100 million.
He'll get $40 million for this next season alone. Another $20 million is guaranteed over the life of the deal, with the remaining $40 million contingent on his and the Saints' performance.
The deal comes just weeks after Peyton Manning signed a contract with Denver worth a reported $96 million.
As RadarOnline.com has reported, the signing comes as the Saints are still reeling from allegations a coach paid players to intentionally injure opponents.
Brees, who has not been implicated in the scandal and is beloved by Nola residents, had hinted he'd leave the Saints if the right deal wasn't put together.
It obviously was.
