Charlize Theron Gets Emotional On Ellen: Being A Mom 'Just Feels Right'

It's one big happy family over at Charlize Theron's house these days, as the A-list actress gets used to parenthood after adopting a baby boy named Jackson two months ago.
The Oscar winner tells The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday that the most beautiful thing she's ever witnessed is how her two dogs, a terrier mutt and a pit bull, took to the baby in an instant.
"From the moment this baby came into our home, those two dogs have never been more in love," the South African stunner told Ellen. "People keep saying, 'Oh you’re a single mom,' and I’m like, 'Actually I’m not!'"
The Young Adult star said "it’s incredible" the way the dogs, Berkley and The Pitt, have been a huge helping hand -- or should we say, paw -- in her parenting so far.
"The Pitt woke up with me for every feed, for every change," Theron said, "and whenever the baby would cry, The Pitt would start crying."
DeGeneres told Charlize, "Jackson is your son’s name and everyone thinks since you’re from South Africa, that he’s from South Africa but, he’s not."
Charlize said Jackson is American and was just 9-days-old when she took him home.
"What’s that like to all the sudden to have a 9-day-old baby in your life?" Ellen asked Charlize, who explained "it took around two years" to get the adoption process ironed out.

"My mom said the most beautiful thing … I’m going to cry," an emotional Charlize told Ellen. "She said, 'It took me nine months to fall in love with you were growing in my stomach.' She’s like, 'It took you two years to fall in love with this little baby.'

"It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it’s finally there," Charlize said. "It just feels exactly how it’s supposed to feel. I don’t know how to describe it.
"It just feels right."
Charlize's new film, Prometheus, hits theaters on June 8.
