Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are negotiating terms of a settlement before officially filing for divorce, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The American Idol star and I Need To Know singer announced in July that they were separating after seven years of marriage; they have two children together, twins Max and Emme.
Jenny from the block and Marc's lawyers "have been working out terms of a settlement before they officially file for divorce. There is no rush to do so because both sides agree on the formal date of separation. Marc and Jennifer have homes, businesses, and are minority owners of the Miami Dolphins football team. It's complicated, and it could be at least several more months before final terms of the settlement are agreed upon. They will formally file in California, because it's a no fault state, and the divorce will be legal six months from the time it's filed," a source close to the couple tells us.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported via Star Magazine, Anthony refused to shoot his Latin reality TV show with his soon-to-be ex-wife because of her new relationship with 24-year-old backup dancer Casper Smart.
"Marc and J.Lo had a tense conference call when she was in Morocco. Inevitably, their discussion boiled down to her new boyfriend (Smart) and Marc made the decision not to work with Jennifer last week as a result," the insider told Star.
Our sources tell us that things have grown tense between Jen and Marc, "but they are still talking. They are both very hot headed and have big personalities, but they have two children together. Jen has been pushing to get the settlement done and Marc just doesn't seem to have that urgency that she does," the eyewitness asserts.
