Kirsten Dunst is a Hollywood star with a secret that she shared with Ellen DeGeneres -- she suffered from depression.
The difficult revelation was made on Ellen's show while Kirsten was promoting her new movie, Melancholia.
Ellen delicately broached the subject on the upcoming episode of her show, stating to the 29-year-old Spider Man star: "There is no way to bring it up without saying what it is -- you suffered from depression."
Kirsten admitted, "It's not something I feel like totally comfortable talking about but yeah, it's a very personal thing."
She said she has struggled with expectations placed on her as an actress in Hollywood. "That and it’s also interesting as an actress you’re supposed to be sensitive and vulnerable and have this side to you. But then you're supposed to be super sociable and 'on' and like nice to everybody. That’s a weird dichotomy. It’s a lot to ask of a person. It’s not a normal thing."
