Country star Keith Urban will have his most valuable asset go under the knife later this month when he has surgery on his vocal chords, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Nicole Kidman's husband announced on Thursday that he will be having surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal chords which will force him to cancel his upcoming performances, including the ‘All For The Hall’ benefit concert that is scheduled in Nashville in January.
“The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation," explained Urban's rep.
While he's resting his voice until the procedure, the country star still plans to honor one-song commitments in the upcoming weeks.
Singer John Mayer had surgery last month to remove an inflamed nodule from his vocal cords, from which he is currently recovering.
