First Trailer For ‘The Avengers’ Released

The very first trailer for the superhero film, The Avengers, has been released, and RadarOnline.com has it for you.

The anticipated blockbuster boasts a star-studded cast including: Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

The A-list ensemble cast worked well together, according to director Joss Whedon.

"These actors have a great time playing against each other," he said. "They are, as a troupe, actually a much better team than the Avengers are."

Fun fact: Ruffalo was cast after Edward Norton, who played the role in The Incredible Hulk, could not come to an agreement on a deal with Marvel Studios, according to iMDb. Joaquin Phoenix was also considered for the role.

The film hits theaters May 4, 2012.
