Actor David Boreanaz says admitting his affair with Rachel Uchitel made for "a bonding experience, in the long run" with his wife, one-time Playboy Playmate Jaime Bergman.
"In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive," the strapping star of Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel told TV Week. "There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you.”
Of his marriage, Boreanaz said, "Do I believe in giving up? No, I don't. I'm a fighter. I'm a lover."
The actor came clean about the affair in May of 2010, just months after Uchitel gained celebrity status as the first mistress to emerge in the Tiger Woods infidelity saga; at the time, RadarOnline.com obtained a series of text messages, showing the communication between the former lovers.
Jamie's mom, Sue Bergman predicted the couple would work through their issues.

“It’s not just David and Jaime that want to work through this, it’s everyone that knows and loves them,” she told us in May 2010. “That’s what family is.”
Boreanaz and Bergman, who met at the Playboy Mansion, wed in November 2001; the couple has two children, 9-year-old son Jaden and 2-year-old daughter Bella.
