As David Arquette took to the dance floor for the premiere of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Monday night, his estranged wife Courteney Cox and their 7-year-old daughter Coco were front-and-center, cheering him on.
"It's just so beautiful to see her and she's the light of my life and I'm just happy she's here and I love her so much," the 39-year-old boyish star said of his daughter, who was noticeably delighted watching her dad.
Arquette told Ryan Seacrest last month that it was actually his precocious little girl who gave him the go-ahead to appear on the dance competition. He said when he asked her, she told him, "Initially, my feeling is no, but let me to go to school and talk about this with my friend Ashley." (Yes, Ashley gave the OK).
For his debut dance, Arquette performed the Viennese waltz set to the tune of Queen's Somebody to Love with pro partner Kym Johnson. (Arquette received 18 out of 30 points for his efforts).
Following his set, Arquette said "a lot of the themes that are in dancing are in living just a clean life and an honest life: Just being balanced, living life gracefully, staying focused, being connected to something, letting yourself step into the light.
"It's all connected," he said. "And it's really great for the body and the soul."
