Was it a sign of things to come?

Jennifer Lopez didn’t wear her wedding ring to a swanky dinner at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, less than a week before announcing her separation from her husband of seven years, Marc Anthony.

The On The Floor singer was at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ Brits to Watch dinner July 9 (Yes, that was the same event attended by Prince William and Kate while they were in town) and she was accompanied to the event by her mother — not Anthony.

The couple gave no insight into why they broke up, but said in a joint statement: “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.”

Both Lopez and Anthony have been keeping their schedules busy with work during what it touted to be a tough time for both.

After announcing the split on Friday, J.Lo was spotted in L.A. on a shoot.

Anthony, performing at Simon Bolivar Metropolitan Park in Bogota Saturday, joked, "They're saying I'm single," during his stage set.
