Crystal Harris On 'The View': Receives Apology From Whoopi Goldberg!

Whoopi Goldberg doesn't dole out apologies to just anyone, but she gave one to Hugh Hefner's former fiancée, Crystal Harris, on The View Monday and RadarOnline.com has the video clip explaining why.

"I told him, I said, 'I don't think the wedding's a good idea,' and he actually said he was only doing it for me, so he didn't really want to get married either," Crystal said, revealing that she and Hef had discussed the breakup days before it hit the press.

"So it was five days before, you and Hef took care of this privately, and then he announced that it wasn't going to happen," Whoopi said, trying to understand what happened.

"So because I thought you left my friend at the alter, I was a little annoyed, so I apologize."

Crystal, 25, seemed shocked by the apology and replied: "Awe, he always told me what a great friend you were to him."

Hef and Crystal were set to walk down the aisle on June 18 but publicly announced their split just days before and then hit the news again when Hef told Crystal she could keep the $90,000 engagement ring.

"What happened was, I came to the mansion to return the ring and Hef told me I could keep it," Crystal said.

"I left and his secretary called me and said, 'I'm going to take the insurance off the ring,' and I said, 'Insurance? Why do we need insurance?' So I had a friend that I'd known forever and he owns a jewelry store, and he called me and said, 'Bring the ring and I'll appraise it. You can maybe make it into something different or get new insurance.'"

According the Crystal, when she brought the ring to her friend's shop in San Diego, she was sold out by her friends and bombarded by the media - who made it look like she was there to pawn the ring.

As for her Bentley, Crystal says she and Hef went halfers on it.

"The car, I paid half for and Hef paid the rest off for a birthday present," she said.

And now that Hef appears to have moved on Crystal still acknowledges that the breakup was hard for her.

"Breakups are hard. It's hard to see Hef and it's hard to see him with people where I was," Crystal said.
