The news that Crystal Harris left Hugh Hefner just five days before their fairy tale wedding was shocking for friends, family, and fans of the infamous Playboy founder, and a new television special will show all the behind the scenes details about why Crystal pulled the plug last minute.
In this sneak peek of the Lifetime special Hef’s Runaway Bride obtained by RadarOnline.com, Crystal reveals that she wasn’t throwing herself completely into wedding planning.
“I never as a little kid imagined what my wedding would be like one day but I kind of knew that I wasn’t supposed to be feeling like this,” Crystal says during the clip.
“I saw myself gradually checking out.”
The 60-year age difference between 25-year-old Crystal and 85-year-old Hef was a shock when their wedding was announced, but it was the planning that was frightening the bride-to-be.
Her maid of honor and best friend, Anna Berglund, who is still living in the Playboy Mansion, said Crystal was showing her doubts before her final decision to leave her fiancé.
“Two weeks before the wedding Crystal started to feel a little overwhelmed by the wedding plans,” the Miss January Playmate said of her friend.
Check out the sneak peek of the upcoming special that gives an intimate look at the wedding plans, and the ultimate cancellation of the nuptials between Crystal and Hef, including visits from ex-girlfriends Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison.
Hef’s Runaway Bride airs Tuesday, July 19 at 10pm on Lifetime.
