Chelsea Handler has made no secret of her penchant for alcohol, but a revealing on-camera interview with one of her former friends has lifted the lid on the depths of her destructive lifestyle.
Morgain McGovern gives a shocking look into the wild partying which she says almost killed her, in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com.
"I've done pharmaceutical grade ecstasy twice in my life and both times she was involved," said McGovern, who was friends with the late night talk show host and comedian in 2003 and claims they did cocaine and ecstasy on a regular basis.
"I thought, I am going to die, I'm going to die if I hang out with these girls."
McGovern -- who eventually moved away -- says she doesn't know if Handler, 36, is still doing drugs, but believes she is still drinking heavily.
"Someone should have staged an intervention," she said. "Every time we went out, drugs were involved."
McGovern is currently penning a book, The Traveling Roadshow Of The Countess Maritsa, about her life as the daughter of a con artist mother, and has a blog.
