You knew it was coming. The killing of Osama bin Laden by an elite troop of Navy Seals is being turned into a movie by director Kathryn Bigalow, who won an Oscar for The Hurt Locker.

Bigalow and writer Mark Boal, who also penned The Hurt Locker, had been working on a film about Navy Seal Team 6 and its hunt for bin Laden for the last two years. There’s no word on casting yet. The Hurt Locker made a star out of Jeremy Renner, who was nominated for an Oscar for his lead role.

Bigalow is likely to go with another not-yet-a-star actor for her bid Laden movie, an insider tells RadarOnline.com.
