Finally --  Gary Busey is gone from Celebrity Apprentice.

Donald Trump fired The Buddy Holly Story star on Sunday, after the 66-year-old  whacked-out actor mismanaged his team's weekly project, a live cooking demonstration for Omaha Steaks.

The meaty task pit the men's team, led by Busey, against the women's team, led by Playboy beauty Hope Dworaczyk (who, ironically, doesn't eat red meat!).

As the team manager, Busey's disorganized business practices and questionable people skills were exposed -- and evident to The Donald.

"Gary ... you're very talented, you're very unique, you're an amazing guy -- and Gary, you're fired," Trump told a stone-faced Busey.

Busey blamed his firing on his teammates , claiming "they were very determined to get me off the team from the very beginning, no matter how good I did ... they couldn't see it, but that's OK."

Meatloaf was especially frustrated by Busey's antics, and could barely talk in the final boardroom scene.

Celebrity Apprentice returns Sunday at 9/8c on NBC.
