VIDEO: Denise Richards On Charlie Sheen's Bizarre Behavior: 'This Is Charlie's Lifestyle... It's Not A New Situation'

Charlie Sheen's long-suffering ex-wife Denise Richards is opening up about the Two and a Half Men star's wild ways - which have included spending at least $500,000 on hookers and drugs and trashing a posh hotel room, while she and their two kids slept down the hall.
The former E! reality star joined the ladies of The View for a pre-taped episode that will air on Friday, where she faced some tough questions from Barbara Walters about Sheen, 45.
Calling herself the "designated hitter", the legendary television journalist asked if any of Sheen's latest shenanigans have come as a surprise to Richards.
"No, I mean it doesn't. I mean, you know this is Charlie's lifestyle," she said.
"He makes no bones about it... and it is what it is."
Richards and Sheen were married for four years before divorcing in 2006 and have two daughters, Sam and Lola, together - which Richards admitted can be difficult at times.
"This has been something I have dealt with for years... this is not a new situation," Richards said about trying to explain to her children the news about the scandal prone father.
"There are times where his life is more colorful than others, more public than others, and as the kids get older it's a difficult thing," she said. "I'm learning as I go too. I have never had to deal with this and this was a subject I had hoped to talk with my children about as they got older. But it's hard."
She even revealed there are books on addiction to help explain the issue to children.
""One in particular, I'm blanking on the title, it explains addiction to children," Richards said. "There are images and pictures that a child can understand. I don't know what they fully comprehend from these conversations. They don't know what some of these things are. So I do the best I can and it's not easy."
The 40-year-old mother-of-two avoided criticism of Sheen, insisting it was not her "place to judge this situation".
If The View wanted to know more about Sheen they should "have him on the show and get into the details of what's going on," she said.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Sheen has been holed up in his mansion since being rushed to the hospital on after a 36-hour bender filled with alcohol, cocaine and porn stars.
This left his hit CBS show Two and a Half Men on production hiatus, but the show's creator, Chuck Lorre, managed to poke a little fun at the troubled actor earlier this week saying:
"I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers."
"If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed."
The View airs weekdays on ABC at 11/10c.
