Zsa Zsa Gabor has returned to her Bel Air estate following amputation of one of her legs, has confirmed.

The 93-year-old Hollywood icon had been hospitalized at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for the past eight days, and was released ahead of what had been anticipated because she'd made such good progress, her spokesman John Blanchette said Saturday.

Gabor developed an infection in the leg in November.  It proved resistant to treatment leaving doctors with no options but to amputate to stop the infection from spreading.

She was transported Saturday afternoon by ambulance back to the home she shares with husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt.  She'll require round-the-clock home nursing care there.

Anhalt has said they plan to sell the home, which he's valued at $28 million.
