The Breakthrough Babe: Without a doubt, the number one slot goes to Blake Lively.  After years in Hollywood, Lively finally made her a la mode mark, hitting the red carpet in one smashing look after the next.  The Gossip Girl found an ally in the notorious difficult-to-impress Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, who made sure that Blake was always dressed to thrill.  From her daringly short Marchesa frock at the MET gala to the sexy fringed Versace number she recently wore to  jewelry event, the blonde fashionista was always unpredictable and refused to disappoint.   With her perfectly svelte body and covetable curves, the beautiful blonde star can wear anything she wants, but while other stars with similar proportions go for the "less is more" style mantra, Blake always manages to find a perfect balance between sexy and sophisticated. Glee Glam:  From Broadway to Glee girl, Lea Michele transitioned her style identity flawlessly.  Every time the bombshell brunette hit the red carpet this year, she made a bold statement without being overtly sexy.  While other stars have to show tons of skin to get attention, Michele always looks classy in couture.  Whether rocking a mermaid style Oscar de la Renta gown (fitted through the bodice, flared at the ankle) or a white hot, uber short Armani mini, this style star always dominated the red carpet. Teen Vamp:  Child star Dakota Fanning grew up on the red carpet this year. Breaking out of her adolescent fashion identity (remember when the Babe star used to rock princess gowns on the carpet?!) the high school student revamped her image, without committing any "Good Girl Gone Bad" fashion crimes a la Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen.  Dakota never dresses to old for her age, and always works her best assets to perfect (those legs for miles!) wearing sizzling hot minis from designers Elie Saab, Marchesa and even BCBG.See Dakota's Best Looks Here

Bigscreen Bombshell: Eva Mendes has been around Hollywood for years, but the luscious Latina had her most smashing year of fashion in 2010.  Wearing the most covetable couture as effortlessly as a sweatsuit, Eva impeccably embraces her curves in body-skimming gowns and sexy dresses.  Her best looks of the year?  Dolce & Gabbana dressed The Other Guys star to perfection.  See Eva's Best Looks Here

Avatar Ingenue:  Zoe Saldana skyrocketed to fame with her hit film Avatar. The stunning star dropped jaws during her first awards season tour, taking risks that only the most experienced fashionistas only attempt. Who can forget the purple Givenchy Couture gown Zoe rocked to the Academy Awards, which featured cascading tiers of dramatic chiffon? See Zoe's Best Looks Here

First Lady Of Fashion: Since Jackie Kennedy, there hasn't been a more fashionable first lady than Michelle Obama.  The gorgeous wife the President Barack Obama refuses to step out of the White House looking less than polished and perfectly put together.  Wearing J.Crew like it is couture and supporting other labels such as Rachel Roy and Jason Wu, MIchelle also uses gorgeous costume jewelry and brooches (Alexis Bittar is one of her face costume jewelers) to vamp up her sophisticated but stylish duds. The Bad Girl Gone Good: The opposite of most actors who found success early on in life, Angelina Jolie has evolved from scandalous to sophisticated.  The Academy Award winning actress and mother of Brad Pitt's children created her own fashion identity this year, which was a perfect blend of timeless glamour and modern sophistication.  Turing to designers such as Giorgio Armani and Elie Saab to soften up her image, Angelina dominated every red carpet in fem and fab fashion.  See Angelina's Best Looks Here

The Indie Ingenue: The breakout star of 2009, Carey Mulligan, continued to impress on the red carpet this year.  The pixie perfect star continued to build her style identity, sampling designers (usually in fem fashion) such as Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Chanel and Vionnet.  See Carey's Best Looks Here.

Country Strong: In a sea of scandalous young stars, Taylor Swift is a breath of fresh air. There is nothing controversial about the chart-topping singer's style.  Sweet and sophisticated with just enough sexy, Taylor was always a refreshing addition to any event she attended.  See Taylor's Best Looks Here.
