Douglas, who is battling throat cancer, went to Pier 59 Studios for a photo shoot. After finishing work the actor left with a newspaper and a bottle of Evian water.
Douglas was diagnosed with stage-four throat cancer in August and recently recently completed chemotherapy.
"No one knows the real prognoses," Douglas' rep told RadarOnline.com. "Cancer is a long process and it has been several months and he is getting better.
"He is in recovery and he keeps improving. He did seven weeks of chemo and was doing it five days a week--- and has been off it for almost two months now.
"The chemo makes you swollen so it is difficult for the doctors to check at this point how effective it has been. He needs to wait several months."
The actor is trying to stay active and has been spending lots of time with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children Dylan, 10, and Carys, 7.
Last week, the family spent a day at Walt Disney World and flew over The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and past Hogwarts Castle while riding Flight of the Hippogriff. They also visited other theme parks while in Florida.
Douglas' rep is optimistic---and says he hopes the legendary actor will make a full recovery.

"We hope they got it all, but we cannot see the absolute results yet because there is a lot of scar tissue so we wait to make sure. Hopefully it is gone, and if not, they will go to the next step of treatment."
But, the rep added optimistically, “He is doing so well. He is really doing better."
